Mindful Habits I'm Enjoying

Hello, we’re going to the beach for a lovely walk by the water. Want to join us?

Here are the snacks I am packing.

Lately, I have been making small changes in my everyday routine to live more mindfully. These are the top five changes I’ve made that has made all the difference:

DRINK WATER FIRST THING IN THE MORNING

After we sleep, our body goes through a 7-8 hour fast to replenish, repair, and refresh us for the next day. I have felt such a difference in my mood and skin after drinking a glass of water within an hour of waking up in the morning.

GET DRESSED BEFORE HEADING OUT

Some days I enjoy wearing sweats and a hoodie but lately, I have really enjoyed dressing up (even if it’s a quick run to the grocery store or walk in the neighborhood). I truly believe I feel my best when I look my best. Putting in the effort to put on jewelry or do my hair has improved my mindfulness and productivity ten-fold.

TAKE A REUSABLE BAG WHEREVER I GO

Warren and I will stumble upon a shop without really planning for it sometimes and it’s so helpful to carry a reusable bag to store items from unexpected trips to the hardware store or quick runs at the grocery store.

PACK A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE

Lately, we have been enjoying takeout by the water and taking a reusable water bottle with us has been so so helpful (and hydrating) in reducing our plastic water bottle purchase.

PREP SNACKS TO EAT OUTDOORS BEFORE HEADING OUT

This is still a work in progress but it’s a habit I am learning how to build. Granola bars, smoothies, apples, bananas, or other fruits are some of my favorites.

What’s a habit that you love or you started to do recently that has really helped you?
